2004 has proven to be one of Brooke's best years yet, in March she won three gold and one silver at the Australian Olympic selection trials to secure her position on the Australian team for the Olympic Games in Athens.

In Athens she won a silver medal in the 100m breaststroke final and was a member of the gold medal winning relay team.

At the meet, Brooke became the first swimmer in the history of the sport to win five individual gold medals at the one major meet. That includes Olympic Games, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, Pan Pacific Championships and World Short Course Championships.

The 200m breaststroke win added to her victories in the 50m and 100m breaststroke, the 100m and 200m individual medley and the 4x100m medley relay.

Brooke was also named Female Swimmer of the Meet.
