Christine was born in Cairns, North Queensland and is of Torres Strait Island descent. She studied at the National Aboriginal and Islander Skills Association (NAISDA) and graduated with an Associate Diploma of Dance. Christine is also a former member of the Bangarra Dance Theatre and the Aboriginal and Islander Dance Theatre.
Christine's debut album "Stylin' Up" remained in the top 100 charts for over a year with the mega hits "Party", "Island Home" and "Monkeys & The Turtle". Her version of "Island Home" won the Australasian Performing Rights Association (APRA) award for Song of The Year - for composer Neil Murray.
Christine was awarded Best Female Artist at The Australasian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (ARIA) and Best Female Artist at The Deadly Sounds National Aboriginal & Islander Music Awards. Christine starred in the musical Little Shop of Horrors followed by a year in the hit musical Rent, both of which received outstanding critical acclaim. Her role as "Mimi" in Rent led to an invitation to Christine from the US producers of Rent for her to perform in the upcoming Broadway production in New York. Due to her recording and touring obligations in Australia, Christine was forced to decline the invitation to perform the role in the USA.
Christine spent two months in London rehearsing and composing songs for her new album with one of the UK's leading record producers. Following this, 14 tracks have now been recorded for her new album with the first single "Sunshine On A Rainy Day". Christine also performed the role of "Arabia" in the very successful Baz Luhrman film, 'Moulin Rouge' with a dynamic cast including Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor.
