After spending twenty years on Wall Street, John F. "Jack" Perkowski founded ASIMCO, a successful manufacturing company in China. Mr. Perkowski is the chairman and CEO of ASIMCO, which was named "one of the 10 best employers in China." John Perkowski knows how to do business in China, and shares his perspectives with his audiences. Additionally, John Perowski has insight as to what awaits Western businesses wishing to take advantage of the booming Chinese market, and provides audiences with his thoughts on China's economic future.
Created in 1994, ASIMCO has emerged as one of the leading companies serving China's motor vehicle industry. The company's broad range of manufacturing capabilities enables the group to produce components, products, and assemblies for a wide range of automotive, industrial and consumer applications. John Perkowski shares how he made ASIMCO successful in an Asian market, and how he navigates the sometimes treacherously bureaucratic road to business success in China.
Jack Perkowski received a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Yale University and an MBA degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and was designated a Baker Scholar. He joined Paine Webber and was the director of investment banking when he left to become the managing director of a leveraged buyout firm. John Perkowski began researching investments in Asia, leading to the formation of ASIMCO Technologies in 1994. He developed an industry approach and strategy for taking an active management role. This strategy led to the formation of one of the largest, independent China-based manufacturing organizations, with more than a dozen manufacturing facilities and more than 30 sales offices in China, as well as two manufacturing facilities and a sales office in the United States. The Asian Wall Street Journal, the Far Eastern Economic Review, and Hewitt Associates named ASIMCO one of the 10 Best Employers in China.
Jack Perkowski shares with audiences his experiences doing business in China. His presentations help participants to better understand what the future holds for the Asian markets in general.
