How do you make the right decision when you're faced with a situation you've never experienced before? There are few situations in the business world that Troy Hazard has not experienced and survived - from massive financial loss to stunning success. The entrepreneurial genius, who has founded and nurtured nine businesses over two decades, has been a few days from bankruptcy, has turned around businesses that were making enormous losses and has consulted to countless successful companies.

Hazard's business talents earned him international respect, so much so that he was elected by the worlds foremost business leaders for the role of Global President of the Entrepreneurs' Organisation, a role he says was one of his greatest challenges.

"That was by far the toughest leadership position I have held," he admits, speaking of an organisation that represents a global community of successful business owners. "I was leading leaders who lead leaders who lead people - a large collection of the world's most brilliant business minds, and they all at some stage thought they could do the job better than I could. It was extremely challenging and rewarding, and thrilling at the same time."

Hazard's experiences in the business world have allowed him valuable insight into the workings of organisations and the minds of customers. Most business owners, for instance, believe they have a great relationship with their customers when in fact only twenty per cent really do. Why? Because business owners believe that, when a customer comes in to purchase a product or service, this constitutes a relationship. They assume their customers care about them!

It's this same experience that gives Hazard such great value as a Certified Professional Speaker. "Some of my businesses have failed and that has taught me many important lessons that you don't learn at business school," Hazard says. He drills down success into four key areas: understanding your own personal values, being a visionary leader, solid market positioning, and customer relationships. In this presentation Hazard will reveal the real meaning of relationship marketing. He will demonstrate what defines best practice when you are building a customer relationship marketing program for your business and show you how to get a programme started easily and effectively. Hazard will offer examples of some of the better relationship marketing programmes he has developed for brands, how they worked, why they worked and who they worked for.

Lessons from 'The Edge'
What is 'The Edge'? We can all name companies and products that have it, that certain something that makes them stand apart, but how do you create it? With nine start-up companies in 20 years, Hazard has seen a number of companies take the step from being a good business to truly finding their Edge. This presentation encompasses a number of stories and case studies from both his own businesses and those with which he has worked as a consultant. He will share stories of the success of buying an ailing Internet business that was losing $60,000 a month and then turning it around to being profitable within 90 days. He will also share his own personal experiences of what happens when you take your eyes off maintaining 'The Edge' in business, warning signs to look out for and how to quickly steer things back on course.

As part of his entrepreneurial adventure, Hazard has spent years developing contacts around the globe so he can help drive his businesses and compete in a rapidly changing business environment. This presentation will encompass great change management advice, including the four killers of business and how to avoid them, the five key drivers to making your business a success and how to predict and prepare for problems along the way.
